After William fell, everything changed.
The world felt silent. Still. Hollow. But in that silence, Rock2Recovery stepped in. No big announcement. No form to fill. Just action. They reached out immediately, offering help to the people who had been with William on the mountain that day. Not just kind words, but real, meaningful support.
That is what they do.
William knew the Rock2Recovery team well. He was proud to support them. Proud to raise money and walk beside them during March4Movember, the annual 21-mile hike from Lulworth Cove to Swanage that he helped run with Jake Best. What started with a small group of veterans soon grew to hundreds. That was William all over. Bringing people together. Turning pain into purpose.
Rock2Recovery is not a household name with deep pockets. They are a lifeline that survives only because people believe in what they do and choose to fund it. They work with serving and former members of the armed forces, 999 personnel, and their families. People who have seen things most of us never will. People who carry the weight of that every day.
What they offer is not a token gesture or a box-ticking exercise. It is proper, trauma-informed, personalised support. One-to-one coaching. A safe place to talk. A way back from the edge.
Some of William’s friends from that day are still receiving help from Rock2Recovery. Nearly two years on. That says everything.
This is not a charity that makes headlines. It is one that changes lives.
William saw that. He gave them his time, his voice, and his energy. And now, through Pickles Prizes, we are doing the same. For him. For them. For the people still out there in silence, not knowing where to turn.
We are asking you to be part of that.
Pickles Prizes exists to carry on William’s legacy. To fund the organisations that showed up when it counted most. To honour the charities he gave his all for. Rock2Recovery is one of those charities.
